The mission of Heal at Home is to offer an alternative to mainstream hospital or rehab for people who suffer from alcohol or opiate disorder. We strive for the best outcomes for client’s and are passionate about recovery.
Heal at Home is a private addiction clinic that specializes in withdrawal management (detox) and treatment for people suffering from alcohol or opiate use disorder. Our mission is to help individuals and their families recover from addiction and co-occurring mental health conditions and begin the process of rebuilding their lives in the comfort of their home.
is a unique and innovative in-home addiction treatment program that was founded on the research- supported idea that recovery in the “real-world” leads to far better rehabilitation results.
In fact, extensive research has shown that receiving medical care and monitored support in the home promotes faster recovery, improves outcomes, and increases the patient’s overall physical and psychological well-being.
Our innovative at home addiction program has been successful in helping individuals overcome their substance use problems. Heal at Home programs are designed for individuals who want confidentiality and privacy, can’t take time off work for treatment or detox support, have unsuccessfully tried other rehab programs or who have had difficulty enrolling in one. Young adults and some youth are also key clients as substance withdrawal is required before admission to a rehab program. Confidentiality around addiction is an important issue for many people who seek treatment. Careers can be derailed, jobs lost; business partners can be challenged and parents can have their parenting abilities questioned. Recovery requires support, but most want control over who knows about their journey.
Sophie Solmini, ICADC SAP is the Founder and Executive Director of Heal at Home. She strives at supporting people with substance abuse issues and unhealthy coping behaviors. She helps them redefine their relationships with alcohol and drugs.
Providing services as an Internationally Certified Alcohol and Drug Counsellor (ICADC) to a Toronto based hospital for years and as well as running her private practice, she witnessed zero availability of individualized treatment for people with substance use disorders.
Certified as a Substance Abuse Professional (SAP), Sophie assesses people for substance use issues and provides recommendations and referrals for two different Employee Assistance Programs (EAP).
In her own words: I know that Addiction is a multi-faceted illness - including physical, psychological, emotional, and spiritual aspects and that these must be addressed. I am passionate and strive for helping individuals and families heal from addictions and unhealthy behavior. I understand that their experiences shape people's behaviors, and each person is unique in this regard. Treatment should always be individualized, as there is no such thing as one size fits all. Addicts and families are people in pain and are doing whatever they can to make the hurt go away. In my interventions, I focus on connecting with their pain so that they can feel "heard" and understood.
